COVID 19 PREPAREDNESS PLAN
TruColors Salon
@ Phenix Salon Suites
1287 Promenade Place,
Eagan, MN 55121
June 1st, 2020
TruColors Salon has developed this preparedness plan to build upon the protocols identified by leaders in the salon and spa industry and in accordance with current state and federal government mandates and guidelines for COVID-19. We’ve taken a proactive approach to expanding our operating procedures and cleaning and sanitation protocols based on the stringent requirements of the State of Minnesota Board of Cosmetology Educators, Phenix Salon Suites Franchisor, Center for Disease Control (CDC), Minnesota Department of Health, OSHA standards related to COVID-19.
My top priority is to provide the safest environment possible to protect the health of everyone that walks through my door. This requires a comprehensive approach to addressing common area and individual salon sanitation standards. The health of my family and my clients is my priority and as a business of one, my personal health is a requirement for operation. I am not just trained in hair services I am trained in sanitation and hygiene and am used to protecting my clients and myself. I am prepared to take the added steps outlined in this plan to do everything in my power to prevent the spread of COVID 19 while continuing to serve my community. Along with completing The BARBICIDE COVID-19 Certification Program.
The salon suite model was truly built for social distancing due to all suites being fully enclosed. fully enclosed and each having separate exhaust. I believe that my salon is safer than any office building in the city and know that I am trained to protect myself and my clients against the spread of disease through extensive hygiene practices.
As I move forward, I will endeavor to execute a program that allows me to operate in a manner that minimizes risk for those coming in for services as well as to myself and my family.
Our COVID-19 Preparedness Plan addresses:
I. RE-OPENING PLANNING AND TRAINING
II. OVERVIEW CLEANING AND DISINFECTING GUIDELINES
III. PHENIX SALON SUITES EAGAN COMMON AREA OPERATION PLAN
IV. TRUCOLORS SALON OPERATION PLAN
V. TRACK AND TRACE
I. Re-Opening Planning and Training:
I will prescreen myself and my clients prior to and upon entering my salon. This includes a recent symptoms questionnaire given verbally (will utilize screening recommended by the State of Minnesota) to clients during booking and also on the day of service.
At a minimum they will be asked:
Have you recently had a cough?
Have you recently had a fever?
Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined?
I will be taking my temperature at the beginning of each day and have a touch-free thermometer to take all client’s temperature prior to each service. For all temperatures at/above 100.4°, for either clients or myself the result will be to leave the premises. I will not put my valued clients and friends at risk by working with a fever or symptoms of the virus or any illness as I have done for the entirety of my career.
II. Overview Cleaning and Disinfecting Guidelines:
As per protocol, the common areas of the salon will be is fully cleaned/disinfected throughout each operating day following the guidelines of the Minnesota Board of Cosmetology Educators and guidelines set forth by the CDC related specifically to COVID-19 with EPA registered cleaners labeled as bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal. We will also provide a hand sanitizer station in the front lobby and ask that all entering use hand sanitizer or wash their hands before services.

Phenix Salon Suites Eagan is made up of 38 independently owned salon/spas. Each lifestyle professional is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting their suites per the standards set forth by the Minnesota Board of Cosmetology and now as specifically required by DHS and other government bodies. Phenix Salon Suites Eagan will notify the lifestyle professionals of our recommendations per our specific salon environment and make sure they are aware of what we will be doing in the common area spaces. Each lifestyle professional is responsible for complying with the reopening guidelines.
III. Phenix Salon Suites Eagan Common Area Operation Plan:
Phenix Salon Suites Eagan abides by strict cleaning and sanitation procedures to ensure the comfort of our lifestyle professionals and their guests. We will be increasing the frequency of our cleaning procedures and ensuring that our cleaning staff wear masks and gloves and practice proper social distancing. In addition to that we will be removing lobby furniture and adding a hand sanitizing station.
One of the key components in our operating plan is to keep the exterior doors locked to avoid clients waiting in the common area or people who are not there for services from wandering around. This will provide the Lifestyle professional the time they need between clients to fully sanitize their suite and prepare for the next client. One client will exit while the lifestyle professional cleans their suite and when they are finished will meet their next client at the front door and walk them to their suite.
There will be no one on site who is not providing or receiving a service outside of cleaning staff. Many will only see one person while in the salon and will receive their service in a fully enclosed and fully sanitized suite. All common areas will be cleaned per protocol, but with increased frequency.
